March 5, 2010Last month, E. Gordon Gee mentioned to the Associated Press that he thought it was time to reconsider the way tenure is awarded. The wire story got a lot of attention, especially given that Gee, president of Ohio State University, wasn’t suggesting abandoning tenure at all, but rethinking the criteria on which it is awarded.
