Where I am from ……….
 

I am from Homer and Cynthia,
The very best of four. (Although the other three might disagree!)
Three boys and a black hair little girl.
Mike, Matt, and Mark three or one
We answer to any of the three!
 

I am from a small town,
Where everyone really does know your name.
Well, they might not know your name,
But if they don’t know your name,
They do know your Dad’s name.
 

I am from a town that had a pool,
This was the most important place in the town.
The pool was a symbol of our town,
A place where only the white people were members,
And as children did not notice.
 

I am from a place where school was as safe as home,
And where teachers treated you as there own.
If you needed a hug, they gave it to you.
If you needed a spanking, they gave it to you also.
A place where I always wanted to be.
 

I am from a very special family,
Where love was always present and
Friends were always welcomed.
Ball games were always played and
Bikes were always occupied.
 

I am now a family man,
A teacher,
Catholic,
Where I am supposed to be,
And happy to be me.
