Five things you might not know about me

1.                  One of the biggest enjoyments in my life was watching my children play ball.  Christopher played basketball at Huntington St. Joseph High School from 1996-1999 and I very seldom missed a practice in those four years.  I enjoyed watching him compete in a sport that he enjoyed so much and watched as he matured and developed.  Likewise, Katie played softball from 1998-2001 at St. Joe and I missed one game in four years.  I recently completed a digital stories workshop and made a video story of Katie’s softball career.  I must say it was an awesome

2.                  Although I now teach, I was a railroad engineer from 1980-1985.  My family is all railroaders and I am the “outcast”.  I was the first in my family to graduate from college.

3.                  I was the Kanawha County runner-up in one-on-one basketball tournament in the 9th grade.  I lost in the finals to a boy from St. Albans.

4.                  I was a high school cheerleading coach in 2001.  The coach quit right before the St. Joseph High School Basketball Invitational and I had to coach the team during its only competition that season.

5.                  I was a premie and only weighed 4 lbs 4 oz.  If you know me now, you could never believe this to be true.
