Almost here
Well it is just about time for SI to start and I am really excited. I love teaching and learning and this is an opportunity to do both.  Teaching, no good teaching requires reflection and reflection requires lokking at your performance. I think of teaching as an Art and artist have to continue to think, reflect, teach, think, reflect, and teach. I need to look at what I do, what research shows about student learning, teaching, and look at my field of mathematics. Does what I do work? Does the research support my teaching? Does my student outcomes reflect my teaching? How can I do better? What is better?
As I relfect, think and learn, I find that I come up with even more questions and concerns. SOme questions I want to look at this summer include:
- How can I use technology in my classroom to improve student learning?
- Can I use technology to provide better student access?
- Can I improve communication between my students and myself? Communication about the material?
- Can I improve communication between my faculty members when we are all loaded down with work and family?
- Can I develop some tools to assist my fellow instructors and my part-time instructors?
- Can I improve the delivery of my e-course?
